Introduction to Data Minder

Because contact data comes into the InterAction+™ Data Change Management (DCM) feature from many sources, sometimes incorrect, inconsistent, and duplicate records are created. Data Minder helps you manage and correct these records.

 Data Minder access:

    • Is available to users in the Data Governance tier, in the Administration group configuration.

    • Isn't available via proxy users

Data Minder includes several tools, including:

  • Data Normalization
  • Duplicate Management
  • Contact Control

Data Minder contains no pre-configured, out-of-the-box settings. All settings must be set by an administrator.

Data Normalization

For more information and instructions, refer to Data Minder: Set and Manage Data Normalization Rules.

Data Minder allows firms to define normalization rules. Run the Data Minder Utility to implement the changes you've made to rules.

Duplicate Management

For more information and instructions, refer to Data Minder: Duplicate Contacts.

Data Minder identifies and helps you resolve possible duplicate Person contacts.

NOTE Data Minder merges only Person contacts. To merge duplicate Company contacts, use the Windows Client.

Contact Control

For more information and instructions, refer to Data Minder: Contact Control.

NOTE Only Data Governance administrators can access Contact Control.

Contact Control settings allow you to suppress a contact from InterAction+ (permanently removing all data associated with the contact) and reinstate a suppressed contact. This functionality helps you adhere to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) and ensure you're not contacting anyone who doesn't wish to be contacted.

Contact Health

Data Minder's concept of Contact Health provides a number of avenues for you to measure and assess the contact data in the Firm Contacts folder. It provides a raw count of the total number of contacts as well as counts and % for a number of segments: n High Quality Contacts n At Risk Contacts n Stale Contacts n Incomplete Contacts n No Company Association Two new panels are available on the Home page to show the current numbers/%. The list views show the contact and may provide links to resolve issues. The Trend Report represents the changes in segments over time.

Offboarding

For more information and instructions, refer to Data Minder: Offboard Departing Employees.

Use Data Minder to follow a standard offboarding process when an employee leaves the firm.

This will ensure that the offboarded employee is deactivated, removed from lists and groups, and associated to their new company, if applicable.

Review Contact Matches

For more information and instructions, refer to Review Contact Matches.

Use Data Minder and click on the Review Contact Matches tab to associate the company with one that already exists in the LexisNexis database. This is particularly useful for bulk uploads.
