Filtering and Searching Your Contacts

The My Contacts page provides filter and search options in the Actions area. You can filter your contacts by category. You can also quickly go to a search form for finding contacts in your list.

Filtering Contacts by Category

The Show drop-down list provides the following options for filtering contacts:

  • All Contacts – displays all contacts in your list.
  • Category Name – each category you have created is listed in alphabetical order.
  • Uncategorized Contacts – Displays contacts with no category.

After selecting one of the filter options, InterAction displays the contacts that match the criteria you selected. For example, if you choose Show > Golf Outing, InterAction displays all contacts with the category of Golf Outing applied.

When filtering the view by category, the Actions section includes a Show Contacts Not in This Category. Select this link to view your contacts not already in this category. This is a quick way to check your list for contacts that should be in the category and add them.

[A] Select the category from the Show drop-down list.

[B] InterAction updates the My Contacts list to reflect the selected category. In this example, the contact list is filtered by the Golf Outing category.

[C] This link is available when filtering by category. Choose this to see contacts that are not assigned the selected category.

Searching Your Contacts

The Search My Contacts List link opens the Contact Search page and displays the My Contact List search. Enter criteria for the contact you want to find and choose Search.

From the Contact Search page, you can search your entire contact list, or you can search within a category. These searches only find contacts that are in your contact list. You can also search for contacts within other lists, such as Marketing Lists and Working Lists.

Search My Contacts List

[A] Choose Search My Contacts List.

[B] InterAction opens the Contact Search page and displays the List Searches option. You can enter your search criteria and choose Search.

[C] The All My Contacts search form searches all contacts in your list. Select a category to restrict your search to those contacts assigned the category.
