Set the Initial Details View
You can set the contact details view that initially appears when you open the details for a contact.
TIP To open the details view to the last view you had open, select Last Active View.
The default setting for the initial view is the General view.
- From the main window, choose Tools > Options.
- In the options dialog box, select an initial view for a contact and choose Close.
Contact Details Context Bar and Filters
Every contact details view has a context bar that provides the contact’s name. For people, it also includes the contact’s job title and associated company. You can switch to the details view for the person’s company by clicking the company name in the context bar.
Many views also contain filters.
NOTE Although the wording for the options in the Activities view is different, the concept is the same.
Folder Filter
The Phones & Addresses, Notes, Activities, Additional Information, and Classifications views contain a folder filter. You can choose the following:
- View information from all folders
- View no folder-specific information (thus, viewing only global information)
- View information for a selected folder
Global Filter
The Activities and Classifications views contain a global filter that lets you filter whether to include or exclude global data.
Contact Details Toolbar
All views in contact details provide a standard toolbar at the top of the dialog box to help with contact navigation.
