Overview of Broadcast Email
NOTE The information in this topic applies to InterAction Broadcast Email in the Windows Client. For information on using Microsoft Word to create Broadcast Email messages, see the Broadcast Email Messages Through Microsoft Word documentation on the LexisNexis InterAction Support Center Web site (https://support.lexisnexis.com/interaction).
InterAction Broadcast Email is an add-on service that makes it easy to address an email message using one or more email addresses stored in InterAction. You can select to send your message to the current contact, a set of marked contacts, or all contacts in a folder (or search results). You can also specify other options, such as the email address type to use (Business, Home, etc.) and whether the recipients should be placed in the To or Bcc field of the message.
InterAction Broadcast Email is useful both for sending occasional messages to groups, as well as sending out regular messages such as newsletters and announcements. You can configure a service to create the message without displaying a dialog box for your frequently-used mailings.
This service works with currently-supported versions of Microsoft Outlook.
When Should I Use Broadcast Email Through Microsoft Word?
As an alternative to using the InterAction Broadcast Email add-on service or the Web Client Send Email action, you can utilize the mail merge capabilities of Microsoft Word, using InterAction as the data source, to send email messages to one or more email addresses. Through Microsoft Word mail merge, you can send individual email messages to recipients so only their email address displays in the To: field. Individualized email messages prevent unnecessarily revealing other recipients of the email. Another benefit of using Word to perform broadcast email messages is that you can personalize each email message by including additional fields in your export, such as contact names or salutations.
For instructions on how to use Microsoft Word to send individual Broadcast Email messages, see the Support Center Web site (https://support.lexisnexis.com/interaction).
