Label and Envelope Page Styles
A page style (also sometimes called a paper style) defines the size, margins, and other characteristics of the envelope or label you are using. Some commonly-used page styles are already created for you in InterAction Administrator. You can create an unlimited number of page styles - for instance, a different Label page style for each kind of Avery® label your organization purchases.
Page styles are stored in files in the SysData directory. This directory can be either on a workstation or the network. If you add or change any page styles, you must distribute these files to the SysData directory for all users in your organization.
Label Page Styles
A label page style defines the layout of a sheet of labels. This includes the following elements:
-
Type provides additional descriptive information about the label style.
This is most useful when you need to provide additional information about the intended use of the label stock - for example, Business Card.
-
Paper Size specified as width and height. This is the size of the sheet of labels you are using, not the individual labels on the sheet.
-
Page Margins, specified in top, bottom, left, and right. These are the margins for the sheet of labels you are using, not the individual labels on the sheet.
-
Label Size, specified as width and height. This is the size of each label on the sheet.
-
Inter-Label Spacing, specified in horizontal and vertical. This is the horizontal and vertical distance between each label on the page.
-
Label Margins specified in top and left. These indicate the margins within each label.
Envelope Page Styles
An envelope page style defines the layout of an envelope. This includes the following elements:
- Envelope Size specified as width and height.
- Placement of the Delivery Address specified as distance from the top and left sides of the envelope.
- Placement of the Return Address specified as distance from the top and left sides of the envelope.
- Placement of the Envelope Note specified as distance from the top and left sides of the envelope. The envelope note is simply any additional text that should appear on the front of the envelope; for example, “Invoice Enclosed” or “Major Announcement Inside.”
Creating and Editing Page Styles
You use InterAction Administrator to create and edit all types of page styles.
When you edit a page style, InterAction Administrator edits the appropriate DAT file for the type of page style (INTENV.DAT for envelopes, or INTLABEL.DAT for labels), located in the SysData directory.

Changing the Font
By default, the initial font for all new reports is 10-point Arial. When a user creates a new report, InterAction automatically uses this font. If necessary, the user can change the font for the entire report or for individual elements of the report.
TIP If you plan to change the default report font, you can save time by changing it before creating any system reports!
You can select a different default report font for all new reports created in your organization. This only affects the font for new reports; existing reports are not changed. Also, users always have the option of setting the font when designing the report layout.
-
From the main window entity list in InterAction Administrator, double-click Report, Label, and Envelope Configuration.
-
Choose Other Settings.
-
Choose the Font button.
-
In the Font dialog box, select the Font, Font style, and Size, then choose OK.

Choose OK to close the Other Report Settings dialog box.
