Handling Informational Tickets
Informational tickets don’t require you to take any action, but they can provide helpful information when investigating tickets.
Informational tickets include:
- Notify tickets
- New Contact Created tickets
- Outdated Possible Duplicate Contact tickets
- Outdated Possible Company tickets
- Outdated Contact Type and Marketing List tickets
If the contact has informational tickets, you see a link for these tickets in the Current Value column.
Viewing Informational Tickets
[A] If open informational tickets exist for a contact, a link displays in the Current Value column. Choose the link to view the tickets.
[B] Open informational tickets display in the View Informational Tickets dialog box. Choose a ticket in the list to view ticket details.
The Comprehensive View handles informational tickets much differently (and more efficiently) than By Ticket view. When you choose Save Changes or Save and Close in the Comprehensive View, you automatically close any open informational tickets for that contact.
Should I Review Informational Tickets?
In most cases, you can choose Save Changes or Save and Close in the Comprehensive View without reviewing informational tickets. However, it may be helpful to view additional information when trying to determine the correct values for a contact. For example, it may be useful to view the New Contact Created ticket to view when the contact was created and by whom.
Most informational tickets (such as Notify tickets) are generated based on preferences chosen by your organization. If your organization chose to generate these tickets, it may be important that you review them.
